Can you list some possible colleges that you would like to get in? I think then we would be able to chance you better.

boston unv.
suny at buffalo
nyu
ccny
Columbia and Cornell

I’m not sure about the first few schools, but for Columbia and Cornell which are really hard to get into, i think your SAT score is a bit low. You did mention that you are going to retake, I suggest you go for 2100 at the very least to stay within the competition. It is also recommended that you take Math II and do well on that (in the 700+) to show that you are advanced in math and capable of handling the engineering major. Since you are a rising senior, your gpa is locked down and you can’t change that. However, your course rigor is pretty good for senior year (we are actually taking the same ap classes lol) so that should be a plus.

To really get yourself above the crowd, use your personal statement to show why you really want to do engineering. Don’t just say that it’s the most stable job out there, try to find something else to say that will really make you seem like a good candidate. Best of luck!

Can you chance me back?

Your stats are too low to realistically get into NYU, Columbia or Cornell, not sure about the others. Not to sound like I am attacking you or anything, but your scores are too low, you don’t have community service or leadership and you suddenly became more involved junior year which looks bad.

Sorry, don’t even bother applying to Columbia and Cornell and NYU.

Your grades aren’t bad but your SAT is very low. I would HIGHLY recommend retaking them instead of taking the SAT IIs in October. I dont even think CCNY, BU and U at Buffalo require SAT IIs but check up on that.

Is English not your first language? Why do you think your WRiting and Critical Reading are so low? Have you taken the TOEFL?
