Hi everyone! First post, so if this is the wrong place, sorry in advance.
I’m applying Harvard REA because I have some legacy/connections to boost my chances, but honestly Princeton is far and away my favorite school. I’m going to apply as a normal, but since I don’t wanna get my dreams up too much, can I know what y’all think my chances are?
GPA: 3.6 (but VERY [freshman: 3.1] upward trending)
ACT: 36/36
AP’s: Chemistry (4), US History (5), CompSci (5), taking Econ and Calculus AB this year
School: One of the best public schools in the nation; our average SAT score is around 2100 (for a non-test public school, this is pretty high I believe)
I have really good teacher recommendations; I found two who really liked me from Biology and US History
EC’s: Policy Debate, Church Activities and Leadership, Internships at various law firms and startup tech firms, and Freelance writing, political volunteering and activism
I’m trying to emphasize my freelance writing career, which has been hugely successful, to try to show “entrepreneurship” and “talent”, but i honestly don’t know.
Essays are fine.
ALSO- Asian Male, which probably will hurt a bit, but since I’ve done a lot of stuff in the humanities and English writing, those are rather unique for Asian males apparently, so I don’t know.
So, basically I have two questions:
- What are my chances of getting into Princeton? I know my thing looks terrible in comparison to a lot of the other really impressive people on here, but I’m a crazy optimistic dreamer.
- Should I submit a writing portfolio, on the insane chance that magically a professor like Toni Morrison (amazing writer) glimpses it, and even more magically thinks it’s amazing?
Thank you all so much! Go tigers
