Overall GPA thus far (unweighted): 3.73 (I'm just worried about 1st semester junior year, the only semester I didn't have an A average)

Rank: My school doesn't rank, and it's really impossible to guess.
Hook: That research project took a ton of time and commitment. I'm continuing it next year. It took at least 200 hours. I'm getting a nice rec from my advisor. Research is my passion and I can definitely communicate that.

Recs: Amazing
Essays: Amazing

Intended Major: Neuroscience

are you for serious? you are gonna die senior year, 7 AP's, But besides that you look mad smart so you got real good chances

thanks a lot for doing the chances for me.

I went to the Arkansas counterpart to IMSA (ASMSA). I know a few people from IMSA '06.

I'd say you've got good chances. You might want to take the SAT as well.

Hehe....you're putting work service on your app? That's cool, I guess. Actually, I think I did the same.

Your research projects are definitely helpful.

Oh, and 7 APs will kill you. I took less classes as a senior because I wanted time to do college applicatiosn. I only had 5 regular classes, and 1 afternoon class (which met once a week).

SAT IIs aren't required for Wash U. Actually, that's one of the reasons I applied :-)

At Wash U you will only receive 15 credits for all AP classes taken

ASMSA? Sounds really cool. Then again, so did IMSA. Then I went there...

Thanks for all your comments so far. I appreciate them. And I can take that courseload I set out for myself, classes at IMSA (even hardcore AP one's) are just plain different from classes anywhere else.

I took the SAT; I'm never going to again. It was bad (1980). My ACT was much better (as you can see). I'm using that score wherever I apply.

I actually consider Wash U a good match for me. I think my chances are pretty good too. Wash U isn't my first choice though. I know a lot of IMSA kids (and others) who applied to Wash U as a safety, and got rejected (a guy I know got into Stanford and MIT and got rejected here). The thing is, Wash U isn't my top school, but I actually WANT to go here. It's close to home, in a city and has one of the best Neuroscience programs around. If I get in to Wash U and some of my other schools, I may choose Wash U because it's more convinient for me and in some ways offers me better opporitunities. I'm just scared the admissions people will think I see it as a safety (which I don't; I'd very much like to come here). Any suggestions?

I am the total opposite. My ACT is like a 28 but my SAT is a 1320 (old bad new) so I am sticking with the 1320 even being from LA everyone uses ACT.

How did you go from Honors PreCal Junior year 1st semester to AP Cal BC 2nd semester to AP Cal BC Senior year. I thought you had to take AB then BC Cal not just jump from Precal to BC Cal

"At Wash U you will only receive 15 credits for all AP classes taken"
i think that's only for ba degrees, but i could be wrong as often is the case

"How did you go from Honors PreCal Junior year 1st semester to AP Cal BC 2nd semester to AP Cal BC Senior year. I thought you had to take AB then BC Cal not just jump from Precal to BC Cal"
nope

Ok. My school crams Alegebra 2 and Pre-calc into 3 semesters. The BC Calculus covers 3 semesters as well. I went finished the algebra/precalc sequence in 3 semesters at the end of 1st semester junior yar, and then had the 1st of 3 semesters of calc (1st half of BC Calculus) 2nd semester. Senior year, I have BC Calculus II 1st semester, which is the 2nd half of BC Calc. 2nd semester senior year, I have BC Calculus III, which covers the more advanced calc stuff 1st quarter and is the all AP review 2nd semester.

I know it's crazy sounding, but that's how my school does math.

Oh, marchballer, yeah, your SAT is equivalent to mine. Good luck with everything. I didn't like the SAT very much, did you?

I liked it better because I had more time to rush through b/c after like a few sections I get tired and on teh ACT I end up with 20 more questions and 5 mins left while the SAT I had 8 more questions with 3 mins. More managable time. Even though the Math ACT i got a 35 and Math SAT I got a 690. Im sticking with SAT.

LOL, my school doesn't even offer Calculus, and all you guys are taking Advanced Calculus in the 10th and 11th grade.

Im taking AP Cal as a senior. PreCal as Junior

Calc isn't that bad. At least the 1st semester of it. You'll do fine
