Chances

by the way I plan on applying to smeal for marketing.

Applying early 4 penn state means applying before November 30th. Anyone who applies up to that point is considered to be in the same pool. So it doesn't matter-despite what others said, if you aply in september, october, or november.

For MightyNick: when your refer to UP, what school are you talking about because this is a thread for Penn State

I was talking about Business or Engineering Schools as they are harder to get into and get more competitive applicants. Anyway, even if you're not applying for Business/Engineering schools, you should still send your application early to have a better chance of getting into University Park. If you apply later (after November), you could get into other campuses.

JEYKIM......I think you should try to increase your SAT. I don't think PSU looks at your senior year GPA if you apply before november, when the first marking period ends. I applied in the first week of October and was accepted by mid-November when they received my October SAT scores. I didn't send them my grades from the first marking peirod.

Hellox 3: 1900 is ok for Smeal. You should get in. However, if you want to re-take the SAT and improve your score even further, you can always send in your scores after you complete your application....that is what I did too (my score went down actually lol). I don't think they send out acceptances until mid-november. If your score actually improves by 100 pts, you could also be considered for the Smeal Sapphire Program, which is an accelerated program for business students in which you get to take sophomore year classes in freshman year. You also have smaller classes.

Rafiqah -
The letters UP refers to the University Park (main) campus of Penn State

just wondering, psu is generally good in business, engineering, and medical stuff, right? what are some of its weak sides?

Its Basketball Team :P.

Weaker sides...i'd say its liberal arts program.

I'd say comparatively to business and engineering, the LA program is weaker, but in reality it's strong.

The LA program? Care to give some more details about that or any other major?

What I mean is, while PSU has its specialties, its other programs are still strong.
