<p>My first post is a chances thread. :o
Stats:
SAT
Best Scores: 2310 (Math:800,CR:750,W:760)
Single Sitting:2260(Math:750,CR:750,W:760)
I retook it and scored lower,will that affect me negatively?. :( 2220(Math:800,CR:700,W:720)
Also should I put the highest overall score or the one with highest math?Which looks better?
SAT 2's
Math 2c-800
Physics-770(Retaking in October)
Chemistry-Taking in October-they postponed it for india</p>

<p>GPA:97.5% School doesn't weight (cos they don't offer APs)
Rank-1/330 (tied with another person)</p>

<p>APs:
School doesn't offer them but took them all studying on my own.
Calculus AB-5
Physics C (Mechanics)-5
Computer Science A-5</p>

<p>EC's-
Great Internship at a Fortune 500 software company (was one of two students selected from the state for this,learnt alot)-Writing essay about this-Summer between 10 & 11
I volunteer at a local. hospital-Lot of interaction with patients-mostly kids.-writing another essay about this.-9,10,11,12
Captain-Basketball Team-9,10
Captain-Chess Team-9,10(I know lol)
Red Cross-Blood drives,AIDS awareness project,other miscellaneous stuff-9,10,11,12
President of Student Body,Literary Secretary -10</p>

<p>Awards-
We have board exams at the end of each year - I was ranked 7th out of ~700,00 in these tests.
Ranked in top 0.1% Math olympiad, Science olympiad 10,11
Won lot of debates
Awarded Educational Scholarship for 11 and 12 grade education</p>

<p>Other-
I go to high school in India but I am a US citizen so I will be applying as a domestic applicant. </p>

<p>Can you guys give me some sort of rough percentage chances? Appreciate it.</p>

<p>2 things. why r u retaking the october physics one... 770 is so good. 2 : how are u tied for rank 1? I am tied w/ someone for rank 1 in my school and we are both rank 2.
Anyhow I think you have a good chance... I am not good with percents.</p>

<p>the person after us is ranked 3rd. i'm taking physics because i'm taking chemistry anyway and i love collegeboard tests.:p</p>

MIT will consider the scores that put you in the best light, regardless of a) which score(s) you got first or b) which ones you write on the application. </p>

<p>At any rate, the difference between a 750 and an 800 is likely to be pretty negligible.</p>

<p>why does mit's admission process seem so much more human than other colleges'? the admission blogs, interacting on cc....hardly any other colleges do that.</p>

<p>I think it's changing -- there have been several new college reps announced on CC recently. Don't think too many other admissions officers enjoy Facebook as much as benjones does, though. ;)</p>
