correct me if i'm wrong, but Brigham Young is a very conservative university, while Wesleyan is very left leaning. If you're considering schools like Brigham Young for college, I'm not sure that you'd like the atmopshere at wesleyan.

um this is the part where i correct you

he/she took a class at BYU during high school, most likely because it's a local university. they never said they're applying to BYU in that post.

I think the relationship is even more attenuated than either of you have supposed; I believe she identified the course in the line immediately following BYU, as "a correspondence course" in English.

My guess is that the OP is a resident of NYC. I could be wrong. But, I used to do college fairs at Abraham Lincoln H.S. in Brooklyn. She reminds me a lot of the students there.

With that in mind, the OP, while a strong candidate, would be competing with a LOT of similarly qualified students -- particularly women -- from the NYC metropolitan area.

Ironically, if she really were from Utah, I'd raise her chances of admission considerably.:p

I live in Washington State. I am currently taking a correspondence course through Brigham Young University, and I am defiently not conservative!

I'd say the outcome could be very, very, very rewarding.;)

Thanks, I sure hope so!
