Took Peace & Conflict Studies/ Religious Studies @ Cal (don't know how that factor into GPA??)
Fluent 3 languages (Eng., Span., German)
Father's childhood friend is Professor @ German Department in Stanford

In at the UC's, good chance at the others, except reach for Stanford.

Er, how'd you get a 765 in the Spanish SAT II? The scores are in increments of 10 ...

Sorry kyledavid, when I originally wrote this post I knew it was a 750 or 760 and I meant to go back and change it...I actually got a 760

cal, la & sd: match

Based on what I've done in high school, and considering that I want to eventually go to Law or Business School, what majors would you reccomend for me??

Stanford: Match
UCLA/UCB: Safe match
UCSD: Safe safe match/safety

I'm holding out from saying Stanford is a match, but you have a darn good chance.

I don't see how Stanford isn't a match? The OP's stats are well within the range of the median admit.

Er, because Stanford's a crapshoot, even for the most amazing applicants? :P

Right, but that doesn't mean that the applicant isn't a "match." All match really means is that they're in the zone for the average admit.

any ideas about majors for me...I've had buena suerte all my life, but I am soooooooo nervous for actually all of these schools....if I don't get accepted, I'm going to the local community college...:0

"All match really means is that they're in the zone for the average admit."

Not quite from what I've seen. People are generally iffy about handing out matches to extremely selective universities like Stanford or Harvard or Yale, even if the person is in the range of stats -- mainly because, I find, that the stats at those colleges don't mean a whole lot when essays, ECs, etc. are often the determining factors.

From this basis alone--just on scores, etc.--the OP is a match for Stanford.

Another reason I don't like saying match for Stanford and the like is that I'll probably be eating my words when acceptances/rejections come out. And it often gives the person false hope, since it's really difficult to say.

What does OP stand for?

original post

What do you see in terms of flaws??

for majors, law school....any major, poli sci, history, pre-law,...w/e social science, even humanities
business...at cal you have to apply to the business school your sophmore year (undergrad Haas).
cal's a cool place i'd recomend it. good german import beers around too. prost!
