chances

not sure if anyone would know this for certain...how much would being on a coach's priority list of recruits (from about 5-7 people) and having the highest SAT score out of that group increase one's chances of getting in? this is assuming the coach needs to fill several spots. i know swat won't accept an athlete if he/she is below academic standards, but i would meet those .. i've also heard swat doesn't really put heavy emphasis on SATs. but i'm not sure.. anyone have any ideas?

Swarthmore has a rather small group of people who are accepted primarily based on athletics each year, so if you fall into that group, you would probably be pretty well off. But I am certain someone else can answer your question better than I.

I am a swimming recruit that was just accepted under Winter ED. I had strong extracurriculars and recommendations, but my GPA and SAT scores were just average among the other applicants, especially in California. Obviously academics ultimately have the overall emphasis in terms of admissions, but I think being a recruited "student-athlete" really gave me an "edge." From what you described, I think your position makes you a strong candidate- I'll have my fingers crossed for you!!
