Also applying to University of Pennsylvania, University of Pittsburgh, University of Virginia, University of Michigann, and Case Western Reserve (All for nursing).

Definitely a great shot! Focus on health ECs and volunteering ECs to show your passion for nursing and helping people. Provided that you have good AP exam scores, I would say you have an excellent shot ED and a good shot RD.

That's a ton of hours.... But anyways, chances look good. Like fusiondogg says, the hours show passion and commitment. If you can bring that out even more in your essays, chances look real good. And just curious, what do you do in the Sudoku club?

Suduko club is just one of the 5 EC's my school offers, all we do is work in teams to solve the puzzels - it helps you get votes for student council

Watch your spelling when you write your app:
It's sudoku, not sudoko, and puzzle, not puzzel.

Why does solving sudoku puzzles get votes in student council?

Sudoku helps get votes because the more kids you can convince to like you, the more kids you can convince to vote for you.

How does one go about to take AP British Literature? Maybe you meant Honors/GT British Literature.

This is the problem with public schools. They offer AP classes, which get you AP gpa credit, but have no exam. One of the schools nearby offers "AP PSAT" where you study for the SAT and get actual AP weighted gpa because of it.

Utter ********?

(P.S): · AP Calculus/Statistics AB??????? Now they are combining two AP classes into one (not like is ap economics with micro/macro in one) its two diff math classes...... and it will probably go on your transcript like you took both separately.

How about you go to a school where they make you take the exam? That's the whole point of the damn class anyways? Seems to me like anyone these days can get into an AP class by yelling at their counselors.

I hope you don't get accepted into JHU based on your flawed ECs and blantant disregard for an actual transcript. By the way, over 100 people in my school have better test results than you.

Ok, leave all this bias behind, I think you'll be waitlisted, not accepted ED.

btw "19. Villanova Leadership Intensive," did your mom and dad pay for that?

Hey amit, calm down. There's really no reason for you to wish the OP doesn't get into JHU, which I think they probably will. Also, you don't know that the OP didn't take the exams--she just didn't post her scores. As for Villanova Leadership Intensive, I don't know what that is, but I wouldn't attack the credibility of that EC by personally attacking the OP.

Amit Mx,

Actually, I did have to take the AP exam for all of my courses, however I did not post my scores on this page.

I also did not post my weighted GPA, but I'd like to point out that I have a 4.0 UW GPA, which should tell you something about my weighted GPA.

Also, I haven't taken AP Calculus or AP Statistics AB, thus I am not sure which I will take next year, but it will be one of these courses. To add to this, I will be in AP classes, and have been in AP classes, because I earned the nominations from my teachers, not because I threw a fit at my counselor.

Also, The Villanova Leadership Intensive only accepts 100 students nationwide out of 12,000. I had to fill out an application, get two reccomendations, and write two essays. So, no, my mom and dad didn't pay for it, because they couldn't. I come from a family who doesn't make much money, infact below 150% of the poverty level, thus why I had to work a job in highschool.

Thank you Amit Mx for your very constructive criticism.

Also, in the future, remember what happens when you ass-u-me.

Yeah I'm only kidding lol, you're a sure bet :). I only hope I get accepted, though.

I notice in your introduction you write that you are a "Johns Hopkins NURSING hopeful." I just want to make sure you know the difference from the undergraduate program offered at Johns Hopkins through the Schools of Engineering and Arts and Sciences and the separate Johns Hopkins School of Nursing.

The Johns Hopkins School of Nursing is only a two year program that is offered to students who have already completed two years of undergraduate study, usually obtaining an associate's degree. The School of Nursing is a separate school, separate admissions process (one you do not apply to at the end of high school), and a separate campus. More info on the School of Nursing can be found here: http://www.son.jhmi.edu/academics/admissions/

If you apply to the undergraduate schools of engineering and arts and science at Hopkins (the Homewood campus) then you will not apply as a Nursing student because no such program exists. You can enroll at Hopkins for the first two years and follow a pre-nursing track and apply to Nursing Schools in your sophomore year. If you want to learn more about such a track, I suggest you read these Guest Blogs:
