I think that this school is very numbers driven (although in ur case, EC's might have to be stressed because of ur gpa).

On ur side:
+ 85% of applicants admitted :)
+ 25th/75th percentiles (M and CR): 490/600 :)

Totally against you:
- ur gpa. ur very close to the absolute minimum for admittance (which is a gpa of 2.5)

u r very close to that 2.5. :( Only 1% of the students admitted last year had a 2.5 or less.

bheit,

we might want to keep are threads alive throughout the admissions process (I am the one below you)

I think are situations would make an interesting CC case study for this University.

Myself: GPA is the same as the average of last year's incoming freshmen class (3.4), Superb ECs, leadership positions, work experience etc... BUT AN EXTREMELY WEAK SAT SCORE (Falls inside the bottom 25% for the university)

You: An SAT score that scales along the 50-60 percentile for the school with a sister as an alumnus, but weak (well, i don't want to jump to conclusion on your ECs, leadership positions, work experience etc... because you don't mention a lot in your post) and of course, an EXTREMELY low GPA.

If one of us gets in and the other gets rejected, it could say a lot about the University and its admissions process. In my eyes, are cases are almost complete opposites. Were also both out-of-state applicants.

I don't know if this has anything to do with EC's but... I've worked the same job for about 1 year and have a bunch of hours accumulated. I used to live in Ohio (not sure if that'll have any affect), as you said my sister was alum, and I did varsity track freshman year and I've played on a bunch of basketball/soccer teams outside of the highschool.
