Chances?

well, i think feb 15 is the date for reg admission people who applied by Dec. 1 AND honors admission for those who miss the Dec. 1 deadline for the separate honors app

so i should apply?

if you fit the requirements i would give it a shot if you're up to writing the several short essays

haha ok, so starrgirl sry to ask u so many questions. I should prolly just call them about this one.... i meet the minimum sat but my school doesn't rank, and it says top 5%, can i still apply. (i have no idea where i would be if we did rank)

maybe ask your guidance counselor (since you will need his reccomendation anyway) and maybe he will agree to estimate you into that rank because my school doesn't rank but my guidance counselor said they have access to the rank they just do not release it so he told clemson that im in that range

You should be in, but I am not sure about honors college or scholarships. Let me know if you have any questions about the school.

mitch_l, i was wondering what living at clemson is like...are there fun things to do in the actual town of clemson, on campus, etc?

Living in Clemson is much more fun than the small town would lend you to believe. If you are into the fraternity/sorority scene there is always a part or even going on. However, if you aren't into that (like me) there is still quite a bit to do. On football weekends, the game will be the center of activity. During other weekends most people will just hang around campus. Downtown Greenville is ~30min away and is suprisingly charming and fun. The town of Anderson is about 15min away and has all of the stores you would want (malls, Best Buy, etc). I'm not sure if I answered your question, so feel free to ask for specifics. I will start a thread for that kind of thing.

Mitch_L, (and everyone for that matter), im not incredibly worried about scholarships, although that would be nice, but mostly just really anxious to get in -i love clemson. What is my like percentage of chance to get in?
Also, any way to raise my chance of getting in, i.e. taking sat again?

I would be very surprised if you did not get in. I don't think you need to do anything else, but I would hate to suggest that and have something happen. You could always try to raise your SAT, but they may make the decision before the scores would come out. If your last semester went well you could always see if they would take a mid-year report (I don't remember if it is required).

ok cool. Thanks alot Mitch_L....I hope your right. Do you think it would annoy them to call and ask if i could do anything else to raise my chances? also i was gonna call about the honors program to see if i qualified (my sats are within range but my school doesnt rank), would that irritate them?

I don't think you would do any harm by doing that. You could always call in anonymously if you want to be extra careful.

Mitch_L, are admission decisions at clemson "need-blind"?

I'm not sure about that, but I do know that I got my acceptance and scholarship before I even finished the FASFA.

nice campus...very spread out. Lots of school spirit, lots of tailgaiting(starting at 6am), lots of partying, lots and lots and lots of drinking.

Correction to above: Clemson website says applications filed by Dec. 1 hear by FEB 15, not Jan 15. Of course, they could send before then - but looks like Dec. 1 applicants have more than another month before they hear.
