So what are my chances now that I was pushed into RD

Wow, I'm shocked you got deferred. I think you look great. Were you able to visit the school at all? Or interview? The only thing I can think of was that maybe you didn't initiate interest above sending in the application? Would you feel comfortable calling the admissions office and speaking to an admissions counselor? Let us know what happens.....

Yea I was able to visit the campus but I didnt take an interview or anything. I am also going to send another teacher recommendation which is from the head of the group I do all my community service in.

JRWriter--- Did you correspond with the Admissions Counselor for CT??? My S wrote to her many times showing interest. He was accepted EA with lower SAT's. Try e-mailing the counselor.

I met with him when he came to our school but I never emailed him. If I email him though, what do I say? That I am interested in the college and that although I was deferred I hope I can attend?

The specific counselor for CT is Lauren Saint Scott. We recevied an e-mail from her after my son sent in his application. Her e-mail was the typical "please feel free to write me with any questions etc." He corresponded with her a number of times with questions showing interest. I definitely think you should write her expressing your disappointment about being deferred and how CofC is your top choice. My D did that with another school and was accepted RD. Good Luck!
