your scores are low (Math from SAT I, and SAT IIs). Not to offend, but from what ive seen, judging on the ED decisions - i dont see you being a quick ACCEPTED. maybe if your essays are good, and recs - but you dont really stand out to me. no offense.

I agree that my scores are low. I suck at math. Overall, though, my SAT is a 2130 and my ACT is relatively high. Should I retake my subject tests? Which ones do you think I could do relatively well in?

meh, i hate chances posts. honestly, at a place like williams, of course you need good grades and scores (and you're val, with relatively high scores), but the essays matter SO MUCH. i know one admissions officer who says that she will put aside most everything else if your personal statement just wows her (and vice versa -- if you're a valedictorian with a 2400 SAT with a zillion extracurriculars and your writing does nothing for her, she won't fight for you). i have a math score of 610 and have been told regardless that my readers all gave me a rating that says "we really want this girl." so just focus on that at this point.

No, I live about an hour away. As far as I know, only one student from my high school (ever) has been accepted to Williams. The valedictorian of the class of 2006 was admitted, and I don't really recall him having outstanding scores. I'm sure they were well above average, but hopefully they really look at you in the context of your school and environment.
