Chances?

<p>I'm wondering what my chances will be for ED WashU?</p>

<p>I go to a competitive school in St. Louis (Ladue HS)</p>

<p>GPA unweighted: 3.96
our school doesn't weigh GPAs</p>

<p>ACT: 34
ACT Writing: 33, essay grade: 10

SAT 1600: 1390

Chem: 710</p>

<p>Currently Taking:
AP Bio
AP English Lang
AP German
AP Calc BC
(planning to add AP Psych)</p>

Orchestra - I play violin. 9, 10, 11, 12</p>

<p>Strolling Strings - volunteering violin abilities to play for charity events. Approx. 80 hours/year. 10, 11, 12</p>

<p>Mock Trial - 9, 10, 11, 12</p>

<p>Big Siblings Program - mentoring in coming freshman. 11, 12</p>

<p>Guitar, Piano, Voice, Songwriting - all self taught. 10, 11, 12</p>

<p>Battle of the Bands - Won 1st place with my band. I am lead singer and guitarist. December 2008. 11</p>

<p>Volunteer at the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse. Summer of 2008. Approx. 35-40 hours. </p>

<p>Worked as a lab tech for Dr. Herbert Virgin at WashU Med School doing PCRs, Gel Electrophoresis, etc. Summer of 2009. 40 hours a week from June - August.</p>

<p>My dad is also a professor (Comp Sci) at the Engineering School. not sure if that will help me?</p>

<p>I realize that my test scores are low. I'm planning on retaking the two subject tests. Not gonna submit the SAT reasoning though.</p>

<p>I was also wondering if not having any physics would hurt me in the app process?

<p>You have nearly identical sat/act scores that I had… and the exact same gpa. That’s not saying much, but I got in RD (I’m class of 2012). And with a 33 or 34 ACT, your scores aren’t low at all. I ended up not submitting any sat’s or subject tests, but that was before you could choose to just send one test rather than everything.</p>

<p>Strong ACT Strong Extra Curricular Activities I think you’ll more than likely be accepted into WU under RD</p>

<p>you’re a solid candidate and your father is faculty? I think you’ll get in. And if, as I suspect, that means a huge tuition break, you should apply ED and try to lock it up.</p>
