Chances?

3.3 UW (low, I know)/3.7 W
2020 SAT (690 CR 660 M 670 WR)
31 ACT (will retake both at least once)
Average ECs....

Will I get in? Is it more difficult to get into the business school and is it easy to change majors? Please and thanks!

Oh and does showing interest help my chances? Like visiting etc.

Can’t answer your Q about switching into the business school after you get accepted. Wait, did I just say “after you get accepted”? I think you are a MATCH for SCU.

That’s encouraging! I’m worried about my lack of extracurriculars though. 4 years of varsity tennis and French Club are my only significant activities LOL.

I cannot answer your Q about switching into the business school after you get accepted. Wait, did I just say “after you get accepted”? I think you are a match, although it would be helpful to see your “average EC’s”. Hopefully, you’re being a little modest. After all, it is a Jesuit school so they will want to see some some community service on your part.

I have some volunteer hours, but not a lot… less than 50 hours total. I had a couple jobs, but one of them was for my parents and the other was for one season (fry cook at an amusement park. lawls). Should I mention these?

Yes, mention your part time jobs. You don’t need to list it was working for mom and dad - you just list the company name. (If you worked very informally for mom and dad and it was a family business, that can turn into an interested essay depending on your experiences and insights.)

You seem like a good match - your stats are in the upper 25% of SCU’s test scores. I think your biggest challenge is to show via your ECs and more importantly through your essays/short answers that you are a match for the university in terms of being in alignment with their jesuit values. It doesn’t mean regurgitating their mottos back in the essays, but it means showing that you have interests and motivations that would bring something special to the campus just by you being you.
