AP Physics - A+/B+ - 2 (I had a nosebleed, haha)
AP Comp Sci. A - B+ Both - 3
AP Econ Macro and Micro - self studied - 4 on both
AP English Language and Composition - A+ both semester’s - 4
AP Literature - A+ Both semester’s - 4
taking AP GOV, AP European History, and AP Stats, which i’m assuming to be an A, A, and probably B again.

SL Spanish (Ab initio) - 6

Extracurricular:
Varsity swimmer for 9th, 10th, and 11th grade.
Joined Debate my Junior year and made it to secretary of the entire club and captain of a squad within a year.
1st Degree Black Belt in Karate and teach actively every wednesday
Started a Tutoring club in my school and i’m the president, secretary, and treasurer. Currently 40 people involved in it!

School’s i’m going for are

NYU Stern( preferably BPE, but w/e)

Oxford( but that’s not really the main thing for this forum haha)

Big question is can you afford these schools or do you need Financial Aid? If you need FA, UCB O-O-S will be expensive. Only about 8% of accepted students are O-O-S at UT-Austin making it highly competitive. Harvard and Stanford are extreme reaches for everyone. What do you intend to study? Your safeties should be fine. UW is also a match. You are correct that NYU Stern and Georgetown SFS are reaches.

If you would be happy going to Western Washington University or your local community college, that’s great. If not, find another 2 or 3 Safety / Matches to consider adding to the list. Essays and recommendations could tip you one way or another as well.

I am lucky enough that I don’t need financial aid for any of these schools.

Finance and Politics are my main interests so those are my intended subjects.

if you are out of state ut austin will be reach too.

Considering your interests, apply to Occidental, CMC or Pitzer (rather conservative/rather liberal), add another safety in Whitman or Willamette.
Show interest.

You need to be strong in math for finance and that seems to be your weakest area based on scores. I agree with 4gulls that your list is too reach heavy and your targets are reaches. Look for some realistic matches and be sure your safeties are schools you would be happy to attend.

We are applying to the same colleges but I have a lower SAT score (in comparison to your ACT) and I took less AP classes :frowning: you should be fine considering UW and UT Austin has SAT averages that are in the 1300s

UTAustin has 95% in-state students. 75% come from the automatic top 6% of each high school in Texas. Then there are Academic admits. Then you have athletes. That leaves very very very few spots for non hooked, OOS applicants.
