Hello, this is my first post on this forum so bear with me. I’m only a high school sophomore by the way.
My stats:
Current rank: 2 out of 865
Weighted GPA: 102.217
Unweighted GPA: About a 99. 3.95 UW
AP courses taken and currently taking: AP Computer Science, AP Human Geography, and AP World History (I’m aiming on doing all AP courses during my junior year)
Extracurricular activities:
Top band - 1st chair Clarinet - made All-District, All-Region, and All-Area during my sophomore year
Mu Alpha Theta
Math and Science team
Marching band - UIL competitions, Bands of America, etc.
Volunteering at UIL competitions such as Number Sense, Math, Science, etc.
So, that’s it. I really need some advice on anything listed for MIT and Harvard. Any help is appreciated.
Your GPA and Rank are really good! You’re only a sophomore but you’re definitely on track. It’s truly impossible to say without any standardized test scores, awards and while your extracirriculars are still developing. Maybe get an internship at a unique, STEM-based location and do some kind of outside of school competitions? Once you hit a certain point in GPA and SAT (especially for Harvard) it becomes more of a crapshoot, and you’ll definitely hit the threshold to be taken as a serious candidate, so know that often your personality does wonders and shows in essays and how you spend your time.
@legend619 can’t chance you without scores but you seem to be on the right track. Come back during senior year.
Your stats are great! It’s hard to chance without scores, and even with them, it’s impossible to chance for schools such as Harvard & MIT.
