In today’s Observer, there is an article discussing changes to the First Year of Studies. I can’t figure out how to link the article, but essentially the FYS will cease to exist and the advisors will be absorbed by the different departments. Students will also be able to either take courses in their major or have flexibility to explore different areas earlier without the constraints of having to fulfill requirements freshman year.
