Changes to the GRE??

Hello everyone. I tried searching for this, but had no luck; please forgive me if it's abound and I missed it!

Here is what ETS has to say about the new question types: "In November 2007, the GRE Program began including two new question types in the Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning sections of the computer-based GRE® General Test. Test takers may see ONE new Verbal question or ONE new Quantitative question or no new questions at all. No test taker will receive more than ONE new question. The new question types are part of the first phase of the General Test improvements that are being introduced gradually over time.

The new question types have been through extensive field trials, and the results indicate that they are functioning as intended. The GRE Program will begin counting these question types toward examinee scores as soon as an adequate sample of data from the operational testing environment is available" (Important Update: Revisions to the Computer-Based GRE General Test).

Has anyone seen these new types on their exams? Also, does anybody know whether or not ETS has decided to score the responses to these questions?

Thanks!!

Even if we did see them...how would we know if they were the new questions? They are all verbal and quantitative reasoning questions.

Haha I knew a whole section was experimental right off the bat. The verbal section has things highlighted and other interesting clicking places that the normal practice tests don't have. You can view the website for sample problems and how they're different from the real problems.

veryspoiledgirl: Sorry for the confusion; I'm referring only to the quantitative questions that require numeric entry vs. MC. So, only if you had to enter in a number vs. choosing A-D or E.

Thanks!
