if you don't feel comfortable changing underwear in the room, do it after the shower, as others have said. In regards to changing any other clothes... it's just what you wear to the pool/beach?

I was in Marching Band as well, though it was white tshirts and boxers (guys) or boxers/soffee shorts (girls) under the uniforms. We were always in full uniform from exiting the bus to getting back on after the competition.

redski, you marched in nova? which school? PM me if you don't want to post it? I went to SL (i'll PM you back if you don't know which school that is). Chances are I've seen you guys =P

It's ok soccerguy. I know what you mean by SL (the one in Reston, I assume.) I'm at West Springfield. I don't recall seeing SL at a competition we went to, but then we were class 5 plus we rarely did the NOVA competitions (my Senior yr, we only did VBODA in Manassas). We mostly did USSBA shows up in PA and NJ. We also did the competitions at Ravens and Giants stadiums.

i go to an all guys school, and one thing we've learned is that its not such a big deal to change in a locker room. dont make it into a whole ordeal. if you feel unconfortable changing in your room, change in the bathroom, but you probably will grow into and get used to changing in your room. i certainly got used to changing in a locker room with 50 other guys. do whatever you need to do and eventually you will get used to changing in your room.

eh, it doesn't matter. My roommate last year on the first night just stripped to his boxer briefs to get ready for the night. So you'll get used to it fast.

Me and my roommate changed i our room. Mine was korean and really shy about it too, but she got over it. If you dont feel comfortable, change in the corner facing awaaaay from your roommate, or get a big PJ shirt and change under that (or a towel if you change in the morning). If you change in the bathroom your roommate might feel like she also has to, which could get really annoying.

if you for some strange reason really dont want your roommate changing in the room, just get a webcam and mount it on top of your monitor (with the monitor in a corner where it has a view of everything). You dont have to actually hook it up, just spend some time looking at some random other webcams and say stuff like "hey look, my friend at UCLA has a webcam of his closet and dresser" do that and maybe some video chat with someone you know.

They will probobly get paranoid that the camera is watching and go somewhere else.

I just finished my first year of college and I still haven't changed in front of my roommate. At my school, we had wardrobes; I simply opened the big doors of the wardrobe, told my roommate I was changing, and changed behind the doors. Believe it or not, your roomy is not a pervert and if you ask that they respect you while you change, 99% will comply. Just be up-front about it and try to set up a little space that you can call your own.
