Hi Guys. I sent my common app essay into one school on December 31. The next day, I revised the common app essay only to learn that I could not change the essay in the common app because I had already applied to a school. On January 2, I did figure out how to change the common app essay in the common app. However, I had already applied to about six schools using my outdated essay. Should I send an e-mail to school asking them to change the essay after explaining my problem? Thanks for the advice.

I'm concerned whether it will make me look bad or not if I want to change essays after the deadline date.

Yep, you can do that.

I'm not sure if it will make you look bad, however. Schools may be irritated because they already have a lot of applications to deal with. If you really feel that this one edit to your application will help you that much, then yeah, do it so you'll have no regrets later. Otherwise, don't.
