What's Chapel Hill like? Do you go there often? What do you do there? I hear it's a great college town.

I live in the Triangle. Chapel Hill is nice, but I actually recommend downtown Raleigh a lot more strongly. It's full of wonderful restaurants and shops, fun things to do, things to see, etc. The Triangle has a lot to offer, and this is coming from a big-city person. Unfortunately Durham sucks :)

Is there any shuttle or public transportation from Duke to Raleigh? My daughter won't have a car.

There isn't an easy way to get to Raleigh if you don't have a car. There's a bus that will take you to Chapel Hill every half hour. I honestly haven't been to either yet and I even have a car. There's just always so much to do on campus at Duke that I haven't had a chance.

Chapel Hill has Franklin Street which is a street full of restaurants and...UNC students. and I guess some clubs too. I haven't been there except to eat once in a while, and it's a cute little street.

Um, it'd probably be a good idea for your daughter to have a car if it's not too much trouble on your part.
