The new center will consist of all of the programs that are currently offered in the Schmid College of Science and Technology. The 90,000-foot building will house 18 teaching laboratories, 24 research laboratories, 47 faculty offices and a large area for student study and collaboration space. On its current schedule, preparations for the center’s construction will begin by the end of the semester and is set to open by the fall of 2018 with a $130 million budget for the science center:
