Since Chapman is sort of a smaller school do they actively recruit kids on campus for their sports teams? I'm not extremely athletic, but it would be fun to play on a sports team. Or is it like UCLA etc where you have people coming just for the sports?

Chapman encourages students to participate in sports. As a matter of fact, I heard they have joined SCIAC. Here is their article.
Is it really competitive to get on the sports teams? I mean I’m in good shape, but I probably wont be setting new school records…

You don’t need to be setting new school records to join a sports team. Competitiveness depends on the sports, some may hold tryouts. To learn more, contact their athletic department.
