<p>When the schools say that "character/personal qualities" are important admission factors, just how do they go about determining this? Is it based on the interview, the teacher letters, the essay? It seems so random....</p>
<p>I would say that the character/personal qualities is part of everything, basically they want to see from multiple sources [i.e. the interview, teacher recs, essay, etc.] what kind of person you are and the multiple sources are made to have consistent information.</p>

Do you think that EC's will also be looked at to determine that - ie. volunteer work at a soup kitchen as opposed to volunteer work at a local museum....</p>
