I got accepted to MSU and I'm not sure whether I can attend cause of money (I'm OOS; I got the university scholars and study abroad scholarship but don't know about FA yet) but does anyone know about the drew science scholars program? I got invited but I'd really like to know what its like exactly.

I read that they live on certain floors of a regular residential hall instead of being secluded like Lyman Briggs. I'm open to the idea and it may be nice to have a community at a big university like MSU, but I don't want to be secluded either. What exactly are the benefits? Is it worth it?

My daughter just finished freshman year and was a drew scholar. All drew scholars live on the 2nd floor of Rather Hall, but the rest of the floor were filled with other students not in drew so doesn’t seclude from campus. The benefits were free tutoring in the math and science classes-my daughter had a private tutor in calculus and chemistry classes all year which were a big help (she was a straight A student in high school). All drew scholars take a class together in their freshman and sophomore years. Drew does some community volunteer days and have their own advisors in the program and connections to internships, etc. My daughter will be a drew scholar next year also. The benefits are great.
