Will I be considered cheating if I have almost all the same answers from somebody else on the multiple choice portion on the AP exam? How does CB considered someone is cheating on the exam? Just curious! Thank you!!!
If I cancel my score, will the CB still grade my test?
If you both know your stuff and arrive at the same answers honestly, then, no, it’s not cheating.
Under any other scenario, then the answer is yes.
It sounds to me as though we’re talking that " other scenario."
How long does it take to cancel an ap score?
If I cancel my score, will the CB still grade my AP test?
Statistically, people are bound to have the same answers on MC by chance and thinking. But, if you answer the questions to the best of your ability, without outside sources assisting you on test day, then you will be okay. The College Board will give a 0 for all exams found to have evidence of cheating, which will go on your record with your other AP exams and be sent to colleges as well. Let this be a lesson for the future. Embody integrity and honor. It is far better to mess up one exam that will not matter in the long wrong than damage your personal integrity.
If you actually did cheat, then I would cancel ASAP.
And yes, having the same answers as someone else is the main hint that someone cheated. Actually, having the same wrong scores is the main hint.
I sent the cancellation form already.
Will cancelling the ap score then is better if that’s the case?
I sent the cancellation form already, but I haven’t heard a response from the college board yet. It has been 3 days since I mailed it. What do I do?
You wait for them to respond.
How long they usually respond for the ap cancellation?
Probably more than 3 days lol. Give it a couple of weeks (keep in mind ur not the only one sending a cancellation form)
My kid’s school required kids to take the exam in order to not have to take the final exam. Without one of those exams it could be a fail for the course. What’s your school’s policy?
My kids’ school also required them to sit for the AP exam but I don’t know what they would have done if someone took the test and then canceled the scoring, since the scores don’t come out until after report cards are done. The AP score plays no role in their final grade.
Did you cheat (you don’t have to answer me, just know in your heart)? If you didn’t, don’t worry about it. If you did, learn a lesson.
Saying that is like saying two people who got perfect scores on a test cheated. If you feel confident about your answers and know you didn’t look at the other person’s paper, you should be fine. If both of you get 5s, you’ll probably be fine. However, if both of you end up with extremely poor scores and came up with similar answers, they may find your tests fishy. If they ask you questions, you just remain honest. Maybe the other person cheated off of you. If that’s the case, they should be the one worrying, not you. That said, honestly, did you cheat on the exam? Yes or no?
@simberry2, CC is a confidential site. OP doesn’t have to answer questions about whether or not they cheated.
Absolutely. It’s no one else’s business as to just what happened.
And @simberry is incorrect in saying that the only person who should worry is the one who copied the answers. That’s a case by case question for College Board to handle, not strangers on the internet.
Ok but how the heck do you cheat on the actual AP exam. Maybe a question or two but it sounds difficult to attempt to have the exact same answers as someone else. Anyways your guilt is getting the worst of you, even if you two get the same exact score and answers right and wrong I doubt anyone else would raise an eye. Unless you make them, which is what it sounds like you are.
I can certainly think of how it could happen.
But I’m not about to share that for the world to see. I’m in the business of educating kids on the material, not on how to cheat.
And, again OP, you don’t owe me or anyone else an explanation.
