One of my good friends, who is pretty smart, has an A average, and has a decent amount of EC's got caught cheating. He seems really frustrated, because he wasnt the one that cheated, but the one that gave the info to someone (i know its still cheating).
He keeps telling me its going to destroy all of his hard work, and any chances to make it into decent colleges.

Is this true?? Will it be treated the same way as suspensions (he didn't get suspended)
As far as i know my school only puts cheating on the transcript if u get caught twice, but lets say if it did go on the transcript, how much damage would it do??

big time damage...tell him to go talk to someone and tell them that it wasn't him who was cheating, and to take a look @ his previously clean record.......they have to understand...if he turned down the person who wanted the cheating info passed, that person would get all offended and think your friend was lame....it's a high schooler thing............

tell him to bring his parents in to vouch for him

he's tried it, and tbh the teacher just wont budge.
It was a hw assignment, and the teacher caught them red-handed, with exact word for word.
Its not going on the transcript, but will colleges still know??
