alright..here is the situation. every year in our school, we take California Standards test. I'm in Advanced Algebra and trig. after the testing, a kid, when the teacher wasn't looking, took onne of the smartest kid's answer sheet, and copied the answers. now..2 months later..he tells me he did it so he can get into math analysis honors nd hes desparate. should i report him to the principal or even the teacher through an anonymous mail?? also..he hhas been cheating on most test, yet our class have no evidence. should i report?!

"We don't lie, Cheat, or steal not tolerate those who do"

If he has to cheat to get into math analysis honors, then he'll fall flat on his face when he gets there.

In any case, since he has shown a consistent pattern of cheating, then you should try to report him anonymously. That kind of cheating is most egregious.

Its his own fault if you tell on him. He shouldn't have done it in front of your face!

If he's your friend, you might be ambivalent and feel bad about it. If he's not, just tell on him. But yeah, he'll have trouble once he gets there.

Even if he is your friend, you're not doing him any favours by letting him get away with cheating. As General Rak has said, if he needs to cheat to get into the class, how does he plan on passing that class? Is he going to continue cheating? Should he be learning that he can get away with cheating? Where/when will it stop?

I think it's safe to say that regardless of whether you tell or not, he will have a very hard time in that class(provided he doesn't cheat, but he probably will). I think you should notify someone before his "habit" gets out of control.

comon, he will get caught or fail or w/e eventually

no need to rat him out

If you report him, his consequence would be that he'll get in big trouble.
If you don't report him, and goes onto that maths honors class, his dog may die.

Karma.

lmao from eating too much of his hw. rofl good one NoFX!

lol you guys kill me. if you want to go ahead, it'll get him in trouble and relieve your conscience. if you dont, he'll suffer through hard math. its punishment for him either way.

really....the action i was about to take is nothing
reason 1: He WILL fail. der is no question
reason 2: The math analysis teacher will inevitably send him back to reg. math analysis
reason 3: his GPA is bound to failure because of the difficulty in pre calc class

but i decided that telling is better.

well here is my letter...help me edit it please!

Dear ----, <-probably principal or counselor..not sure hoo to send it
In our algebra 2 and trig class, the student, blah blah, has constantly cheated throughout the year on tests, quizes, and homework. However, during our annual california standards test, he took our top student's test sheet and copied it. I believe that it is an outrage that someone would cheat in order to go to a higher level math class and I would like for you to take action, either by failing him or suspension because according to our student policy, you stated that severe action will be taken against a cheater. Thank You
sincerely,
