I am currently a chemistry major. I’m going to stony brook. I transferred here form a community school back in the Fall 2014 semester, I didn’t do well my first year at stony brook. I am thinking of changing my major to biology, because it has basically the same classes as the pre pharmacy courses. But a few of my friends told me that it looks bad to change my major, it shows that I took the easy way out. Thoughts? I really need to improve my gpa. Thanks for the help.
Can you ask your college advisor? Personally I don’t think it matters.
Changing your major from chem to bio is not an issue for pharmacy schools. In fact, it really doesn’t matter what your major is as long as you have all the prerequisite courses for whichever pharmacy school you are interested in.
