ChemE USC vs. UCSB

I'm currently studying at a community college (PCC). Planning to transfer next year. I'm interested in applying to USC and UCSB, but i think i like USC better. The only thing is that my GPA is kind of low right now... about 3.63, so I'm not sure if that will get me into USC. The other issue is UCSB, I wanna know if it's a good school for chemE and if I will be able to find a decent job after graduation. Do I have any chances for these schools? and how about other schools like Harvey Mudd and Berkeley? is it really difficult to get into?
I appreciate your responses!

UCSB is really good at Chem E, like one of the best. USC is relatively unknown in chem E. Mudd and Berkley are really hard to get into

thanks for your response...

I think ucsb is better for chem e and plus its almost half the cost

ucsb. hands down

Another question... how long does it usually take to complete the requirements before transfering? I'm an international student and it's the end of my freshman year. I was planning on tranfering next year but I have noticed it would probably take me more than 2 years to finish... how long does it tusually take to graduate?
thanks everyone...

UCSB is the way to go, they are known for ChemE. But you must take advantage of this. Be sure to do research with profs ect, because they must have connections with the big companies.

It can be done in two. Typically, transfer students (especially engineers) end up taking three more years after two years at a CC. There are a lot of classes that you must take for ChemE

After Berkeley, UCSB is the best UC for Chem E. ChemE USCB was actually one of my choices, but I ended up choosing another school over it. Still, a good choice. Plus, UCSB is in a good location.

lol @ chemE at Cal. what we do seems more chemistry and biology than chemE

thanks for your responses... i think my choice would be UCSB after all. I hope I'll be admitted. Does anybody know if I can be admitted to UCSB without completing all the requirements for chemE? I think I won't be able to take the last calc series course and physics by next fall. What do you all think?
