Chemistry EE: Acids & Bases + Electrolysis

My EE is on how the heat of a solution affects its change in acidity/pH after it goes through electrolysis. I chose this cuz i like electrochem, and I like acids/bases, so I kinda just combined. Only problem is, I’m trying to think of possible implications for real life and I’m going through a block. Is there any reason in the gold/metal plating industry that acidity or pH would be important? Perhaps there are certain ways that people extract pure elements from nature where acidity may have an effect on plants? Trying to look up things, to no avail. Any input or ideas is appreciated!
