Chemistry Graduate school

l currently am a sophomore getting a chemistry/math double major, and have about a 2.8 GPA in chemistry, 3.3 GPA in math, and a 3.0 Cumulative. Though my grades are better in math, my real passion is chemistry, and it is my goal to go to graduate school for chemistry. Though I do have about a 3.5 this current semester. I know that chemistry Ph.D. programs are extremely competitive and you usually need around a 3.5 GPA, with around a 150+ GRE. I know I’m just a sophomore and have time to recover my GPA, so I was wondering what GPA/GRE scores I need to be competitive for a maters program? I also just got accepted to do research next semester, which should also be a nice resume booster. Any advise is helpful, thanks so much.

If you are interested in “what score you would need”, the company that administers the GRE releases this: https://www.ets.org/s/gre/pdf/gre_table4_extended.pdf . It is a breakdown of GRE scores by intended major. It should give you a good idea of how people with similar backgrounds as you scored on their GRE.
There is also an entire GRE FAQ pinned to the Graduate School forum.

If your goal is to do a PhD, get as much research experience as you can and make connections with your professors and whoever is supervising your research.
