Right now I am a junior in high school. Throughout my life, i have had an interest in becoming a doctor. Something medical. But now i think my dreams are shattered. At the begining of my junior year, i took honors chem, then my friends were telling me to switch into this 'easy class for an A' so i did seeing i would get an A in an easy topic.

I then was really impressed seeing how the class was just talking about how chemistry can relate to our lifes, and why its used. Basically, i wasnt taught it. So now, second semester, i switch to a teacher 'thats known to make you like it and will teach you it'. I see that in this new class everyone has an enthusiasm for chem, and they all know how to do it. I dont even know whats a mole or anything, and they are here just using formulas and they know when and what to use them for; and i dont. Its really hard for me to even try to learn, as everything builds on the previous thing used. I dont know how to write chemical symbols for which name or anything or whats the difference for what which ending is an 'ite, ate'ide, or something else'

Now im wondering, is my medical career doomed beause of this? Im thinking that if i go to college and take a chem class, they will expect me to know some basics of chem, which i don't, or do they teach it to you?

My basic question is, can i go into college not knowing chem and have them teach me it, or do i have to know it.

I dont have money for a tutor, or any of that sort, though i do have a 3.9 highschool GPA, im willing to work once i get my chance, and im trying now. But in college, do they teach me as if i dont know, or do i have to know?
