Chemistry Major

My son is interested in Chemistry, and I was wondering about this major at Pitzer. I noticed it listed under the Joint Science Department there and wondered how that worked within the Claremont Colleges.

thanks in advance

Joint science is a department shared by Pitzer, Scripps College, and Claremont McKenna College. All three campuses are adjacent to each other, and the science building sits between the three campuses. Courses taken at Joint Science by a Pitzer student are considered courses taken at Pitzer. If a course happens not to be offered at Joint Science then the student can usually take the course a Harvey Mudd or Pomona if it is offered at one of those schools.

Conversely, Mudd/Pomona students can typically get permission to take a Joint Science course if it's unavailable on their own campus.

The above poster explained all the basics, but here's the department website if you'd like more info: Joint Science Department of the Claremont Colleges
