Chemistry Majors, What did you end up doing with your degree?

Title is pretty self explanatory. What did you do with your chemistry degree? Your job doesn’t have to be science related. I I’m a senior in college and I just want to know the possible career paths I can take. I want to take a year or two off before deciding to pursue more learning (like an MS or PhD) so I want to know what I can do before that. Perhaps something that pays well (again, it doesn’t have to be Science related) so I can make great progress in paying off my debt. I already have about 2 years worth of research experience so I know, besides taking the GRE I’m qualified to go to grad school, I just want a break because I’m pretty burnt out.

Please don’t tell me the scripted “Chemistry is awesome! here’s a link with 20 possible ways to be successful!” I want real personal experiences for you Chem/science guys. Extra brownie points goes to anyone who worked in the Boston area because that’s really where I’m interested in working.

Both my parents got a bachelor’s in chemistry and they went to pharmacy school- Buffalo, NY specifically. My dad currently works as a professor and researcher at the U of A and my mom is a medical writer at a private company.

Pharmacy is one of the fastest growing fields right now so I’m guessing there are plenty of job oppurtunities in boston

Well i have a bachelors in chemistry and i am working on a doctorate. i absolutely love it.
