<p>On the official outline for AP U.S. History as provided by the College Board, "Chesapeake country" is listed under America and the British Empire, 1650-1754.</p>
<p>I can't seem to find it under the index in my second edition copy of The American Pageant.</p>
<p>Can someone elaborate on this?</p>
<p>They mean the Chesapeake Bay area in Maryland/Virginia. Basically in that time period there were 2 major regions.. you had the ppl in massachusetts and the northern area whose communities were based on political/religious reasons..more central beliefs.. like town meetings.. salem witch trials etc... you have the chesapeake bay area whose communities were based on economic reasons... plantations etc.. triangle trade.. and tabacco was cash crop..</p>
