Chicago Alum Shines In A Field You Might Not Expect

A little fun for UChicago fans:

Who knew that a University of Chicago alumna appears likely to become the first female general manager of a major league sports team? She hasn’t landed the job yet, but she’s been a leading candidate numerous times, and it seems like there’s a good chance some team will hire her in that role in the next few years, if not the next few weeks. She’s worked in professional baseball – and not in marketing or PR, to which most women are relegated – since graduating from UChicago in 1991. And she’s handed Scott Boras his hat in a big arbitration, which shows that those critical thinking analytic skills do have value in the real world.
