I know Chicago has a great theater scene, we may apply to Northwestern as a far reach school, other than that what else can we add? My D prefers a traditional campus, size about 5,000 plus students and a decent amount of liberal arts required.
That said she has added one smaller school to her list as well as one urban campus. Oh and she is a strong dancer so would like to continue dancing in the program. I thought we were done with our apply to list but I guess realizing we may want to add a couple more.
As far as Chicago itself, it is difficult to find a traditional campus in the city. Northwestern is a great choice as far as that goes. You may want to consider Illinois Wesleyan which is 2 hours away from Chicago. Strong academics. Traditional campus. Western Michigan University is also about 2 hours away. And Millikin is about 3 hours away. Those all may be ones to consider.
Of course in Chicago itself, many people apply to CCPA (Roosevelt), Columbia and DePaul (no MT but great Theatre program).
Thanks @vvnstar a quick glance reminded me why we dont have any other Chicago schools on the list. it seems like CCPA is a conservatory, Columbia not known for academics, and DePaul I do not see dance or voice in the curriculum( correct me if I am wrong)
Loyola has only a minor…
So I guess other Northwestern, we leave our list Chicago-less.
Rockford and North Central are close to Chicago.
