Chicago Biology

<p>What can you tell me about the rigor of undergrad Bio? Are the profs approachable? Are the classes fun? (B/c honestly today I heard the head of the program speak and he was SO sarcastic and now I'm a bit scared sh**less about how I'll do in large classes since I wanted to major in Bio and I know how to study but science isn't really my strength)</p>

<p>Yeah. That's a good question. I'd like to know as well since I might transfer to Chicago.</p>

<p>Bio at U Chicago is like most other places. Parts are tough because it's a popular major, pre-meds tend to hang out in the major, and the U wants to weed out those who won't do the work.</p>

<p>For kids who are serious about Bio, the opportunities are pretty unique. Foremost is the location of the med school - right next to the main campus. In fact, most med school labs are a 5 minute walk from the popular dorms. So lab opportunities are pretty plentiful.</p>

<p>For you non science majors, the core offers enough flexibility that you can avoid the toughest courses. Just read at this link:</p>
