Chinese student without RD interview--is there still a chance?

I'm a chinese student applying to Midd by regular decision. I have not received an RD interview, but I saw some other chinese applicants who have received midd's alumni interviews. One of the interview invitations they received goes, "Congratulations! You are part of a small group of students from China who have been selected for an interview after the Admissions Office at Middlebury has reviewed your application."

I see people on this forum say that Midd's interview doesn't count that much, but i guess interviews are valued differently in China and in the US. As i haven't been invited to Midd's interview, does it mean those selected for interviews are finalists, and i'll be rejected without doubt? Hmm, just tell me the truth, i'll be fine.

Hi kangYJ- what i can tell u is that interviews in china seem to be selective-from my own experience. But not receiving one doesn’t mean that u r rejected-last year they admitted quite a number of chinese students without interviewing them; receiving one doesn’t mean that u r accepted- i got one and still got rejected. it is selective, yes, but it doesn’t have as much weight as u may think.
