aw lucky duckies.. I have to wait until winter!! If you guys want nice and cheap clothes it has to be Shanghai or Guangzhou!! :)

definetily, i can't wait to indulge myself shopping in guangzhou

im going to xi'an, since my family is all there, but by myself this year; both my parents are staying... i want to visit other places but i dunno if i dare to go myself to shanghai hahaha

check this out
www.rocu.cn

I am from Hong Kong. Is that count?

I will count you definitely, we are the same

xokandykyssesox, that's cute that you are from Xi'an! I was born there. I miss the food there so much! ><

tangsdaily, where are you study right now?

haha...i'm in china already. doing absolutely nothing at all. just online all the time, read, listen to chinese pop music, eat...yumyum.
question:do you guys think i should buy my clothes in china? my dad said since i'm going to us, i might as well buy my clothes there, cos you know 入乡随俗嘛。do you guys think there's a big difference between the fashion in china and us? i know there was like five years ago, but don't know about now.

Generally speaking, it can be cheaper to buy cloths in U.S. than in China. Different regions of America have styles slightly different. If you are going to a conservative, white-upperclass-ish ("Preppie") school, collared shirts, ties will be necessary. Otherwise, Americans are quite casual.

I'm in d.c. metropolitan now....

嫉妒ing... vanilaice!!!! i have to venture 40 miles to find chinese food and even further to find chinese movies(old school 周润发,周星驰,葛优,刘德华), spend an hour to download a chinese song(old school 张学友, 刘德华,周华健,邓丽君,刘欢。。。。too slow to follow the current music trend).....in fact i'm listening to the old "shanghai beach" theme 上海滩
I really don't know what's hot now in china.
if i'm buying clothes in china, i will buy some artistic traditional clothese, espcially the authentic silk pajamas.

I always buy my clothes in China vanillaice! I think it's a lot cheaper as long as you stay away from the really big department stores. And plus in China I buy a lot of外销转内销clothes. So the style is practically the same except it's ten times cheaper.

tangsdaily - I love that 上海滩 movie!! It was so sad though =/

I buy most of my clothes in China too. I always convert the Chinese money to US dollars (divide by 8) so it'll seem really cheap lol

well... i think that if you want real nice stuff its actually cheaper in US...

like if you want fashionable stuff; cute shirts, nice skirts... but don't really care about the brand, then its cheaper in china. you can probably buy jeans for 60-50 chinese which is under $10US but then... if you want brand name stuff then its cheaper here. i mean... like lets say make-up, lancome is so much more expensive in china.. or dior and channel, so clothing wise, im sure abercrombie ralph lauren A|X is cheaper here.

plus, there really IS a fashion difference. like.. if you're really stylish and you're good at hunting for fashion; unique tanks or skirts or scarfs and stuff, then china is the place for you. but if you go for the preppie whitecollar look.. like i love the casualprettysexy abercrombie look and its almost impossible to even find that fabric. i mean, my clothe from china are really... the party clothe are nice, the nylon ones... those are good, but the cotton T shirts are THICK and BIG and not tight at all so i dont even like them

ps i LOVE chinese food haha i think im gonna have to work out a lot to keep myself from gaining weight

i heard 上海 襄阳路 is a good shopping place, comparing to 恒龙广场 of shanghai....... haven't been back for years, i don't really know the situation

hehe...thanks for all the advice. i agree with you all. but the thing is, i barely have any winter clothes, or fall, or spring, because i was living in singapore for the last two years. which is tropical and you only need a light coat. so i guess i have to buy them in us since there aren't any in china now.
tangsdaily:i'm pretty updated with the latest chinese pop music. go to www.baidu.com or www.yisou.com, you'll find 排行榜there, then you can take your pick.
suggestions: check out singers like 林俊洁,张敬轩,戴佩妮,温岚and of course the one and only 周杰伦。my personal fave is 王菲,though she's not new anymore.and there's this band called FIR,their songs are very nice.and oh musn't forget, 孙燕姿.ok i can just go on and on about chinese pop music but think i'll stop here.

and yes, CHINESE FOOD ROX!!!
the best part is, if you don't go nuts with them, you won't even gain weight. at least i don't, unlike when i was in us.

i'll be back home in China by this time tomr! MUAHAHAHAHA!

so jealous... I have to wait until next summer.
