<p>chicago, chicago,
it's mostly people from cuus that coolkid met in the past. i was representing chinese thread there. there are 20 showed up, mostly from shanghai, and going to northwestern, oberlin, uchicago, grinnell. sweetbee, there is a growing network of human resource. coolkid is intense about it. i can hardly keep up. i'm in a different shoe.
it will be harder for us chinese thread survivors to meet. anyway, we will meet some time in the future, once we got $$$$$$$$$
i visited some companies in chicago, one marketing(ac nielson), one bank(commerical trading, loan, etc, but not ibank), one consulting(deloitte)...... it's just a beginning...... i poke a little hole, and the oil will burst out. it's still too early to tell directions.
chicago is nice. i like it better than new york. chicago's living cost is not as high as nyc, sf, or even boston. lake michigan is great.
it's more reminescent of the Great Gatsby.....
st.louis is sigh.....</p>
<p>GASP...yy and yryuan,do i sense some flirting going around?
MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
i love messing things up.
and i heart chicago and lake forest!!</p>
<p> flirting?!!! ok I don't know much about vanillaice. yuxuan, maybe you wanta give her some color see see? hahahaha....</p>
<p>ok im taking the Chinese test in nov too...i think ill just be ignorant and pretend it wont matter</p>
<p>im screwed either way</p>
<p>cuus has a quite different atomsphere</p>
<p>glad tang had fun in chicago, i can see him expanding the tang dynasty to the Magnificent Mile. sont worry too much about networking, many things can just be superficial. </p>
<p>although regrettably, one can't touch the water in lake michigan. Last time i tried to do so, some costal guard stopped me as he described it being too polluted.</p>
<p>HAHAHAHA...the water in lake forest is very clean though i did see green stuff floating at the sides.
IT IS FLIRTING.right yy?hehe.
ok i gotta get to my calc class.tata!</p>
<p>yryuan buried 300 ounce of silver somewhere.</p>
<p>i never knew lake michigan was too polluted. i actually went to the beach and taste a sip of lake water. i thought it's fresh, not salty.</p>
<p>there are a few plmm from sfls, did you hear that raymond?</p>
<p>whatever, tang. There are countless plmm in my school, so I couldn't care less. What is sfls anyway?</p>
<p>I want to go to lake michigan no matter it's polluted or not, coz I never been there before. How come you all can afford going to chicago? And I only have $50 in the bank? ($49.50 actually) I'm going to file bankruptcy :(</p>
<p>no words...yy,are u gonna quote me?hahahahaha...there will be some ****ed ppl if you do!</p>
<p>van, do you WANT me to quote you?!? 'cause i really will... lol. don't worry, since 'all of them are too far away to come and kill' you anyways.
and no, no flirting anywhere. stop messing around</p>
<p>I m in my java class now. lol</p>
<p>thx sweetbee =) cb did reply my mail and they asked me to send them my personal information and my registration no. of the SAT, hopefully I'll receive my scores soon! (tho it might still be a nightmare to look at the scores...)</p>
<p>hey guys, I would like to know if you guys know any alumni graduated 5-6 years from your college? my mum works in an executive search company and she's now searching a management consultant for her client. (HK)</p>
<p>Here is the website where you can get the details
<a href="http://www.talwinconsultants.com/job_vacancies/Management_Consultant.htm%5B/url%5D">http://www.talwinconsultants.com/job_vacancies/Management_Consultant.htm</a></p>
<p>The job is based in Hong Kong and the job holder will need to have frequent business travels within the Asia Pacific region. </p>
<p>Thanks in advance! =)</p>
<p>I am applying for this job! haha, just kidding. Who am I anyway. I do like travel around though.</p>
<p>hey fellow ccers... havent been on for such a long time.... i kinda miss coming here since i was like addicted back in highschool. i guess facebook is my new hype</p>
<p>DIE FACEBOOK DIE!</p>
<p>As a man frequently in and out of the business world (cough....cough....sorry for being snobbish). i found this offer a little hard to match. it's asking people with bsba or mba pmba from top 5 us/uk ranked business school. well, people from top5(wharton, kellogg, sloan, stanford, harvard, ross, tuck, stern, imd, insead.....) with more than 5 years of high profile consulting expertise are already moving up and making much more. talwin offers hkd$900k~1mil which equivalents usd$120k~140k; that's what wharton kids get a few years after receiving their bse. Besides, there aren't many fluent chinese/english speakers coming out of top5 us/uk schools at undergrad level. Native chinese graduates fluent with english can't alway handle hard core business in English when dealing with native English speakers, there are just a lot of cultural boundaries. other foreign born chinese might not handle the hard core business in chinese because of the working environment and absence of in-depth social cultural interaction in China.
if it's a graduate(i.e. MBA) from top5, and had 5 years of consulting; this person is probably working in managment or executive level already.
Im an undergrad, but not in any top5. in fact, I even doubted if our school is in top ##, though our dean told us the student quality is second to MIT Sloan who is 1st in the country.
i speculate the offers will fall on some people from hk, Singapore; since there are significantly more students from there at top5; currently, consulting industry is doing really strong comparing to a decade ago, since global economy resumes its charge.
and a little joke time for yuan.
I was meeting with few clients and going over their redesigned governance structure today before their upcoming additional bond issuance, As executives of F*****2000 firms, hey are gradually turning their focus to markets in between developed and developing countries. And over the next few years, they are gonna hire a few young and ambitious young men like Raymond while offering usd$120k and up to usd$100k bonus annually
you can get that offer if through me; Ill just write your name and recommend you to them in two minutes
.</p>
<p>sorry for talking so snobbish, i'm just tired of school a little</p>
<p>tangs,are you ok?
xo,seriously, the facebook addiction is too strong to fight.my sequence when i go online:msnspace--facebook--college email.now that's addiction.

<p>hmmmm.....seems tang is puting me on the spot these days. Fine, go ahead and make fun of me.
Actually I did meet a sales person from some paperwork company today on the sub way. He is coming to Atlanta to meet a customer from Georgia Pacific. You guys ever heard of that company? He told me GP is doing a lot of businesses with China. Actually he's been to China many times(he's American). He also tole me GP currently need people doing business management in this division badly.(Chinese people of course) so I guess this is a good career opportunity for you all who are interested in business? haha....I don't know why he told me this since I'm only a college freshman. but anyway, I guess it helps more if I tell the information I got to you guys.
I also checked out the website jayeez provided. The salary looks decent to me. Remember it's in HK, not US.
Oh yea this year's climate is so weird. It's almost 0C, about 35F in Atlanta now. It's only October...</p>
