Choices, choices

Seniors with college still up in the air, how do you know the college you're picking is the right one? I feel so insecure about it. I don't have elite colleges like everyone else, but still, the issue weights heavily on my mind. As in it's making me unhappy. How can I possibly know by May 1st? I mean, I'm doing the whole visit thing, but I feel so lost and confused with the whole process. I always assumed this was the easy part, not the hard part.

Go with your gut.

or...

Put all the choices in a hat, pick one out, and then... decide that you don't like that choice and go with the opposite.

i decide everything using the old standby, eenie meenie miney mo.

Sorry to inform you Martha, but through many research experiments conducted in conjunction with top universities and grad schools, I have found that the hat method is more reliable than eenie meenie.

that may be so, but my sources have told me that paper-rock-scissors is the most infallible method of selecting anything from lunch meats to colleges to spouses.

for those brave enough to use it, that is

Spouses? Hmm. I heard closing your eyes, then spinning around with your arm outstretched and one finger pointed, worked best for that one.

yes, but only when you're drunk and in a bar full of hell's angels.

And where else are you supposed to find a husband?

just clarifying. there are some clueless people out there who don't understand the workings of true love.

Ahh yes. Those poor, poor souls.

Nothing beats flipping a coin...Nothing!

In all honesty, I picked the school I'm going to (CSULB) over UC Irvine because of the cost. I've met and talked to people in the English Departments of UCI and CSULB; English being my planned major. I just got a better "vibe" from the people I talked to at Long Beach. Weird maybe but UCI is also boring as hell.
Distance didn't really factor into my decision since I live relatively close to both. Long Beach was also easier to contact and get information from which factored into my decision.

I hate to admit it, but I once walked amongst them. Then I saw the light.

Flipped coin? Amateur.

I'm glad you've seen the light. Don't you feel enlightened now? I should probably go to bed though, I have speech sections tomorrow. So, don't fear if I fall off the face of CC tonight without warning. Wait, I usually just fall off anyway. Not that anyone notices...
