Hello, I am having trouble choosing a major. I want something that I like, Id love to do something that I am passionate about, but I understand that sometimes that isn’t what pays the bills, but also something that I am good at too. I have always excelled better at math than in reading, have an artistic view/eye of things, and have an entrepreneurial mind. I am also a visual learner, I tend to struggle a bit more with having to read, because I cannot remember what I have read and that is why I’ve done better at math and art, I am visually being able to see what I am learning. I am also a great researcher, but don’t want to be stuck having to write papers all the time. Science seems interesting, earth science I liked when I was younger, but have grown more fond of the arts, but that doesn’t always pay the bills. If you could help me choose a major or at least point me in the right direction, especially for someone who is a visual learner, would be greatly appreciated.
Knowing that you are a visual learner isn’t really going to help you pick a major, since most majors you can (and have to) learn in many different ways. This depends a lot on professors, too, and how they teach.
What you can do is go into college undecided, then take some classes you are interested in. That’ll help you try on different majors and see what makes the most sense for our interests.
