Choosing a College Major

Hey guys! I’ve recently been considering about a CS major for college. However, my extracurriculars are more geared towards pre-med and science, with achievements such as International Biology Olympiad, Intel ISEF (Health & Medicine), etc. I’m not exactly sure about any college major yet, but will my extracurricular profile somehow decrease my chances of admission to a CS major at a selective university?

You do not yet have any of these “achievements”. You have not even competed in either of those competitions, much less have any “achievements” from them.

You have no idea whether you will even qualify, much less win any award. So writing about “achievements” which do not exist, and may never exist, and how they will affect your chances of acceptance to colleges for which you may or may not be competitive, is an absolute waste of your time and energy.

If, in another three years, you have actually competed successfully in ISEF or in an International Science Olympiad, AND you have the grades and test scores necessary to be competitive for admissions to CS at a selective university, we can discuss this issue. As it is, you should be working an getting an A in Honors Biology, and doing ECs which interest you.
