Goldman Sachs- Global Investment Research
Credit Suisse- Investment Banking

I know research and IBD are VASTLY different areas but does Goldman stand out as the obvious choice (regardless of the fact that its research) between the two? Any advice?

Thanks so much!

no; assuming you want to do banking, go with the banking offer

first of all, gs gir isn't really that great; if you look at league tables and stuff they barely break the top 10; other firms such as ml/lehman have traditional been teh research go to guys
also, experience is a lot more important; see if you can leverage your gir into an M&A position at cs; even if you end up not liking cs,you're bound to a bunch of interviews for ibd next year

Agree with the above poster. I'd definitely go with CS and the Investment Banking offer, for sure. If this is for an internship, the CS IB internship background would be better for you when you graduate.
