Choosing Colleges [Fashion / Anthropology]

I am now finishing my first year of IB in United World College Thailand.
I will be applying to US colleges later in this year, but for now I remain rather amateur in all this process.

As I started researching different colleges, some questions came to my mind that I would appreciate some input:

  • What is the major difference between a Major and a Minor
  • Can you take courses within two colleges of the same university?
  • What are the best colleges with both Fashion and Anthropology?
  • Does the Brown/RISD provide full scholarships?

If you have any input for any of the previous questions feel free to share. In any means thank you for your time

A major is what you earn your degree in, and thus what you devote most of your course of study to during college. Some top schools require you to complete a senior thesis or project in the discipline you major in. A minor is a much smaller commitment that you would be taking on in addition to a major (not instead of). A minor can usually be achieved just through completion of a sequence of courses in a given subject. You must have a major - minors are optional. You can have multiple majors or multiple minors (or both), but this is easier at some schools than others.
