choosing major

I was wondering if I could ask your advice on choosing a major for college applications.
I have a very strong background in music--I've been playing the violin for 12 years and have been part of the New England Conservatory Prep School, several summer camps (e.g. Tanglewood) and other miscellanous chamber groups and orchestras. However, I decided that I didn't want to pursue a career as a professional musician, so I decided against applying to conservatories.

Although music continues to be my passion (and I can see myself majoring in it, even if I don't intend to become a professional musician) I'm currently most interested in architecture or civil engineering: I have no experience in them, but I am interested in those fields and am likely to be working as an intern this year in an architecture firm. Academically I'm probably strongest in chemistry: I've not only completed the AP chemistry curriculum but also went on to take an independent research course my senior year for various chemistry related projects.

Some schools on their apps ask me to rank potential majors and I don't know if I should emphasize music (which would definitely be one of my interests and certainly the most consistent with my background, but not the top choice), chemistry (again, I am interested in majoring in it, but not the top choice) or archecture (probably most interested in pursuing but the least background). Even when they don't explicitly ask me in the apps, I'm wondering which discipline makes most sense to emphasize in the short responses/essays.
