Choosing school for Biomedical Engineering

I am having a tough time deciding which university listed below has the best biomedical program. Some of my schools may be ranked as a better overall school but it is not necessarily the best biomedical engineering school.

University of Pittsburgh
University of Connecticut
Boston University
SUNY Stony Brook University
Tufts University
University of Miami

I’ve heard good things about Tufts BME. Would you consider Hopkins? The program is selective, but excellent.

I had originally decided to apply to John Hopkins but some the kids from my school who have gone there felt the atmosphere to be extremely competitive an cut throat, basically unpleasant. I have heard a lot of good things from Tufts which has made me not consider JHU even though they are highly ranked for BME.

Look at the entrance requirements for BME in Tufts. Only the top 20 freshman kids get in as sophomores. Seems as though the rest get stuck in the regular engineering track.

Pitt is known for their bioengineering program. I don’t know how it compares to the other schools you have listed.
